A 3D Spatial Diagnostic Framework of Sustainable Historic and Cultural District Preservation: A Case Study in Henan, China

Three-dimensional (3D) information technology has become an important technical support in digital heritage preservation practice. However, due to the lack of systematic quantitative research, it is difficult form a comprehensive understanding historic and cultural districts, from macro micro. Our study aimed establish 3D spatial diagnostic framework combining scanning SPSS data descriptive analysis regression for districts promote sustainable area preservation. Taking Zhongshan Street Qi County as example, statistical was carried out on morphological feature level district, meso architecture, micro elements. The research conclusion shows that at street continues main features traditional alley skyline, height–width ratio, sectional symbol language. At level, architecture reveals various periods style terms facade width mathematical relationship between architectural facades. detailing explains reasons recent new construction being inconsistent with district appearance. This method can accurately analyze current characteristics easily provide effective suggestions follow-up methods.
